I was born in China but not in Beijing. I came here when I was 3-month-old. So my first memory began exactly in Beijing. I thought Beijing was very beautiful. When I looked at the photos of Beijing, I felt very happy. Nowadays Beijing is more beautiful than before. Nearly every day the skies are blue, trees and flowers are very beautiful, and of course air is much fresher than before.
In Beijing there are lots of beautiful places for tourists to visit, such as the Great Wall, Summer Palace, Forbidden City and so on. I like the Great Wall very much. It is so large that the men who landed on the moon could see it. It is the largest wall in the world. So many Chinese are proud of it, including me. Chinese people started building walls as early as 600 BC to keep out their enemies. I think it was very difficult to build such a wall at that time, and lots of people died from the hard work. I think we should thank them for giving us the Great Wall and we will protect it forever. Many foreigners visit it today and all of them are amazed.
Beijing is the capital of China, so people here are very busy. Many people work from early in the morning to late at night. I’m a student. I study in a middle school. Although we are very tired, we feel happy because we all understand that we are studying for Beijing, for China.
Beijing was the capital of China, so people here are friendly and polite. I am a Chinese, and I love my motherland very much. I hope China will be stronger in the future. And in 2008 we can show the foreigners we are the best.
